GOVERNMENT FUNDING

Affordability Grant (for children up to 5 years old)

Beginning January 2022, the Government of Alberta began issuing an affordability grant to ALL families of children not yet in Grade 1 or higher, regardless of income. You do not have to apply for this grant, our centre submits for it each month based on your child's attendance.

Subsidy for Children Not Yet in School

On top of the grant, parents of children not yet in school, that make less than $180,000 per year can apply for an additional subsidy. If you have a dual parent household, both parents need to be working or schooling to be considered.

Click HERE to head to the subsidy website to learn if you qualify and apply.

Please note that subsidy is based on actual hours used and the full amount they show is based on 100 hours of attendance. If coming less, it could be pro-rated.

Subsidy for Children in School

If your child attends Grade 1-6 subsidy works a bit differently and there is no affordability grant. Parents can get subsidy if they make less than $90K a year. Again, if you are a dual income home, both parents need to be working or schooling to qualify.

You can apply for subsidy HERE.

If you qualify for full subsidy, the amounts are:

Kindergarten: $266 per month

Grade 1 - 6: $366 per month

These amounts will be lower the higher your income goes, up to the 90K per year. Charts that show all the breakdowns can be found on the page that is linked above.

Please note that subsidy is based on actual hours used and the full amount they show is based on 100 hours of attendance for Kindergarten and 50 hours for grade 1-6. If coming less, it could be pro-rated.
